Pattillo Housing is the historic rehabilitation of the Pattillo Building in downtown Gloucester, developed in partnership with the YMCA of the North Shore. Built in 1889 and operated by the Y since the 1990s as single-room housing for formerly homeless individuals, the building is being transformed into 28 affordable studio apartments, each with its own kitchen and bathroom. Financed in part through federal and state historic tax credits and low-income housing tax credits, Pattillo Housing preserves a piece of Gloucester’s historic district while giving residents the stability and independence to rebuild their lives in their community.
